1. United States vs John Kane

In April 2009, John Kane found a software glitch in one of the video poker games that allowed him to discover the previous winning hands and win a jackpot. The suspicions grew when he walked into Silverton Casino Lodge in Las Vegas and won his eighth jackpot worth USD 8,200 in about one and a half hours, according to Wired reports. 

The casino officials waited no longer and ensured that Kane never left the building until the matter was closely inspected by engineers. Kane was charged with committing wire fraud and exceeding authorized access to a protected computer. But he was later freed of all charges since he had not violated any law.
