SuperGaming, the developer of Indus Battle Royale has revealed that the upcoming title has crossed five million pre-registrations on Google Play. Back in March, the game crossed a million pre-registrations.

The game will enter beta phase during the upcoming festive season. To celebrate the same, the company also released a trailer titled ‘Indus Battle Royale Closed Beta’. Olympian and pistol shooter Heena Sidhu, YouTubers TechnoGamerz, Magsplay and GamerFleet have voiced the characters of the game.

Ruby John along with Navneet Waraich, Sanket Nadhani, Christelle D’Cruz, and Sreejit J led the foundation of SuperGaming in 2017. Despite being experienced, it will be interesting to see if the company is able to nail a new category.

As per Inc42, CEO of SuperGaming, Roby John said, “With Indus, we are hosting community playtests that give them the chance to play the game and help us improve upon it with feedback, this includes players as well as esports pros.”

“In addition to this, we are also working with and empowering content creators, regardless of the number of followers they have, to create engaging content around Indus”, he further added.

John cited that small creators are not familiar with behind the scenes, so helping them is a crucial aspect. The gaming startup provides the access to resources to help them create better videos.

A battle royale game based on Indian culture

The game is set in a backdrop of futuristic realm called Virlok. The theme of the game is based on Indian culture. It features different locations and a variety of playable characters based on the same.

John is aware of popularity of games like BGMI, COD, Minecraft, and Valorant among the Indian audience. And thus, he believes that it is a great opportunity to enter such a market. He also wants people to know that a ‘Made in India’ game can be equally fun and engaging.
