To tap into India’s gaming market, Vodafone Idea revealed its subscription-based mobile cloud gaming service, Cloud Play, in collaboration with Paris-based company CareGame. The gaming service is priced at Rs.100 per month (with a Rs 104 recharge for prepaid users), the service offers users a range of premium AAA games across multiple genres, including action, adventure, arcade, racing, sports, and strategy.Â
As an introductory offer, users can experience the service for free before committing to a subscription pack, according to a statement released by Vi.
Talking about the service, Vi emphasized the growth of the gaming industry in India, driven by a mobile-first approach. Referencing industry reports forecasting a billion-dollar market for gaming in the country, Vi emphasized cloud gaming as a significant development in the gaming world.
Cloud gaming, enables users to access gaming titles without the need for local downloads, allows for seamless gameplay across various devices such as tablets, smartphones, PCs, and TVs. By offering high-fidelity games with rich graphics and support for multiplayer gaming, Cloud Play aims to reduce the burden on device memory and nullify the necessity for frequent handset upgrades.
As reported by The Economic Times, Avneesh Khosla, CMO of Vodafone Idea, expressed excitement about the partnership with CareGame, heralding Cloud Play as the future of gaming where “the cloud is your playground and the possibilities are limitless.”
CareGame have more than 1,200 mobile games from popular companies available, which can easily be set up on both iPhones and Android phones
Philippe Wang, Co-founder and CEO of CareGame, highlighted Cloud Play’s ability to provide AAA mobile gaming in India without necessitating investments in new devices.
