TalkEsport secures $1 million investment from Saswat Ventures, plans expansion and innovation

TalkEsport, an esports media platform based in India, has concluded its pre-series A funding round with an investment of $1 million from Saswat Ventures.

Since 2011, TalkEsport has been providing news and updates to gaming communities worldwide. As the oldest esports media platform in India, the company has gathered an audience spanning gamers worldwide through its website and social media channels.

With the newly secured investment, TalkEsport aims to upgrade its core website and introduce a mobile application for its audience. Additionally, the company plans to establish a studio in Mumbai, facilitating the creation of gaming and esports content.

Deepak Ojha, Founder and CEO of TalkEsport, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Saswat Ventures, stating, “Their belief in our vision and commitment to the esports ecosystem align seamlessly with our mission to redefine gaming experiences globally.” Ojha highlighted that the investment would enable TalkEsport to expand its newsroom and develop new content IPs for both Indian and international audiences.

Saswat Ventures, led by Mr. BL Sharma, shares TalkEsport’s vision of becoming a global leader in esports media. Sharma expressed confidence in TalkEsport’s potential to revolutionize the industry and connect with a vast audience of passionate gamers worldwide.

Now, we want to double up on this audience, reforming the way content around esports is consumed in India and abroad through podcasts, media, short-form content, and analytical stories – both in the form of video and text”

Furthermore, TalkEsport is preparing to launch its mobile application, offering gamers a convenient platform to access news, engage with esports communities, and participate in live tournaments. Deepak Ojha confirmed that the investment proceeds would be allocated towards building a team and expanding global reach.
