India’s largest interactive entertainment platform, WinZO, has revealed the ‘Bharat Tech Triumph’ initiative, aimed at boosting the global export of culturally relevant games and related technology originating from India. The program, designed to nurture homegrown startups, emphasizes offering essential resources like a global platform and access to foreign direct investment (FDI). Building upon the success of the Made in India’ program, WinZO aims to propel India’s economic growth by promoting exports in the entertainment and technology sectors, aligning with PM Modi’s “First Be Vocal For Local, Then Go Global” mantra.

The initiative focuses on intellectual property creation in the entertainment sector, technology innovation for real-time communication, high-speed computation, and the ability to handle a billion consumers simultaneously – foundational technologies for social gaming. The ultimate goal is to position India as a global powerhouse in technology innovation while generating employment opportunities, attracting investments, and contributing significantly to the nation’s GDP and startup ecosystem.

Under this initiative, WinZO will support research in deep tech for social gaming and cybersecurity, providing infrastructure, collaborative opportunities, funding, and access to real-world data. The platform aims to facilitate partnership and knowledge-sharing among local startups, the global gaming community, and academic institutions.

Notable partnerships have been formed with industry veterans and organizations, including Kalaari Capital, Lumikai, CleverTap, AWS, and the Telangana VFX, Animation, and Gaming Association (TVAGA). The collaboration aims to identify high-potential technologies within the Indian startup ecosystem.

Paavan Nanda, Co-founder of WinZO, expressed the company’s commitment to nurturing innovation and contributing to the growth of the technology sector, inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to ‘Make in Bharat’ for the world.

“The diversification of exports is pivotal for India’s economic prosperity. The export of game tech products, particularly high speed computation technology, holds the key to unlocking our nation’s vast economic potential and success of technology startups. Recognising the tremendous potential within India’s startup ecosystem, we believe that global exposure and promoting export of cutting-edge technology will not only contribute to economic growth but also position India as a global leader in the consumer tech industry. Our commitment to supporting startups reflects our belief in their importance in  economic success and technological advancement on the global stage. We at Kalaari are great supporters of startups that are innovating for Global audience,” said Rajesh Raju, Managing Director, Kalaari Capital

As part of the BharatTech Triumph initiative, select companies will be facilitated by WinZO to become a part of the first-ever India Pavilion at the ‘Game Developers’ Conference in San Francisco, scheduled for March ’24. The initiative aims to offer gaming developers opportunities to represent themselves in leading markets, marking a pivotal moment for Indian gaming on the global stage.
