Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) latest partnership brings in cricketer Hardik Pandya in their latest campaign to promote the game to the masses.

According to Krafton India, the collaboration will add new in-game items like outfits, helmets, skins, voice packs and cricket-themed emotes inspired by Hardik Pandya’s style and personality similar to other collaborations with popular streamers.

“We are delighted to launch this collaboration with Hardik Pandya. Embodying the spirit of grit, skill and survival, he is a dynamic force in the world of cricket, and his passion is something that BGMI players can relate to,” said Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India, as quoted by afaqs.

By bringing in two of the most popular activities together, the company is aiming for even greater influence. The collaboration also comes right before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, intending to aid the promotion of the game as well as create hype among cricket fans.

Talking about the collaboration, Hardik Pandya said “I have always enjoyed seeing the passion and fire of BGMI players, which has made it one of the most unique and popular games in the country. I am excited to be part of the BGMI family and can’t wait to see the players sport their cricket-themed avatars, emotes, and gear.”

Since the unban of the game, Krafton India has picked up the pace to bring the game back to its old glory. In-game events with rewards and esports tournaments have also helped to bring back several players.

Also, BGMI recently announced Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its new brand ambassador. As per Sohn, Ranveer was selected for the task due to his “magnetic persona and unwavering spirit”.

Notably, during the recent 50th anniversary celebrations of India-Korea diplomacy, chairman of Krafton, Byung Gyu met with Indian diplomats and discussed Krafton India’s initiative to invest in the Indian gaming sector.
